Showcase and Reflection

Learning objectives

Students will display their research results with digital tools.

Period 6:

 

Each group will show their research results one by one (35 minutes)

Teachers and peers will give comments after each group. Teachers and students will complete an evaluation form according to the rubrics.

 

For broader influence:

The video, infographic, and the video of the presentation will be uploaded onto social media such as twitter, facebook, wechat, youtube and blogs. The websites students make will be open to the public. They will also displaed in school culture fair.

 

 

Summary (10 minutes)

Teach will give a summary of this project and initiate reflections from students.

 

Exit Ticket:

Students write one paragraph on the TodaysMeet about what surprised them most in classmates showcase.

 

Assignment:

Students are supposed to think about how to connect what they have learned in the research with community service and write a reflection of this project. 

 

 

 

Period 7:

 

Discussion and sharing (15 minutes)

Students will share their ideas of how to input their result into school learning, family education, and local community service.

 

Find an easy way to make a difference to their class, schools, family, and communities (15 minutes)

All the students will work together to come up with a practical way to make a difference to their life based on their research. They are encouraged to write advocacy letter to school to get support. 

 

Reflections (15 minutes)

Both teacher and students will share their reflections on this project.
